Welcome to the introduction about the blog YesterDEI. We are excited to bring new perspective about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion that not only have an education focus but include the business sectors of our world as well.
You may have noticed that there are three blog categories. Each blog has its own distinct personality. YesterDEI will focus on the historical figures that fought and lost their lives because of their beliefs in equality and freedom. YesterDEI honors those whose voices have been lost in history books by bringing their stories of survival, success, innovations and remarkable contributions to the success of the United States to the forefront. We encourage teachers, educators, public speakers or anyone who values sharing the sometimes-forgotten stories of thousands of people who contributed to the wealth of this country.
Including the voice of the past gives us perspective about how we are living in the present. It also gives us reminders about what “not to do again” if we are to move in the direction of One Nation. We need to be reminded of ALL of those who have contributed to our great country.
Please subscribe to the YesterDEI blog or visit us from time to time to see what we have to say. We will have guest bloggers contributing to these topics as it pertains to their field and personal interest.
It is our hope that this blog teaches you something about someone new every time you visit. If the topic is about someone that you are familiar with, we hope that you see this person in a new way. We hope that you are inspired to share a story, because you will directly be contributing to sharing a story that may not be well known.
Please use this as a teaching tool for what ever your context. We hope that you look forward to seeing our first post. Welcome to YesterDEI, a reminder of those who came before us that fought for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
