Equity Audit Overview

Equity Audits

Equity audits are foundational to begin Social Justice change within school environments and offer
schools multiple benefits:

  1. A systematic method to determine the degree of equity or inequity in the institution.
  2. A robust long-term method of tracking equity and inclusivity performance.
  3. Data-driven interventions for increasing equity and inclusivity in education.
  4. Institution-driven and controlled equity initiatives aligned with the needs of the
    institutions immediate community.
  5. Minimize the complexity of state and federal accountability systems while allowing for
    increased equity for ALL constituents.

Equity Audit Process

The consultant conducts equity after in-depth discussion and strategic planning with school/district leaders and administrators. The consultant integrates research on current best practices, sets goals, develops the appropriate surveys, oversees administration of survey, analyzes survey results, presents finding of survey results, makes recommendations, and presents all materials in a final meeting.

There are a total of six audit phases with Phase 1 and 2 comprising the basic equity audit with
which all schools begin the equity audit process.

  • Phase One: Audit Preparation
  • Phase Two: Systematic Audit
  • Phase Three: Program Audit
  • Phase Four: Teacher Equity Audit
  • Phase Five: Achievement Equity Audit
  • Phase Six: Implementation Services

After completing Phase 1 and 2, schools or districts may proceed with implementation recommendations or continue with additional audits depending on their goals.

Post Audit Follow up Meetings:There will be a single follow up meeting of up to 2 hours after completion of Phase One and Two and a follow up meeting of up to 2 hours after completion of each of the next phases.

The above delineation is a guide. Each institution is unique and will have different audit needs and urgent challenges. The final selection of audit phases for an institution will be determined in consultation with the institution.

Fee Structure

  • Phase 1 & 2: $12,000
  • Each Additional Phase 3 – 5: $6000
  • Phase 6: To be determined based on scope and timeline of work

An additional option is to extend the Basic Audit (Phase 1 and 2) to include up to 4 phases with a price adjustment for bundling audits.
